I understand it's incredibly difficult to come up with moderation policies regarding adult content which both protect all users without restricting their speech. The least we can ask for is that #Spoutible is willing to grow and learn from our users and adjust to be more open.

And this isn't an easy 1/0 issue. I think people have been grappling with adult content and sex work since someone drew the first porn on the cave wall. Who knows, maybe this place will come up with a better way to do it?

I do not envy @cbouzy in navigating this. The policies read very "first draft" to me, like it's the right general idea but there's way too much vague stuff which can be easily mishandled. Rather than an outright reversal or change, the policies will need to evolve.

Seriously, this is a tough topic and I'm hoping this whole discussion leads to policy innovation. Sex workers need a safe place to organize and network, but people need to be able to opt in to seeing NSFW content. The 🐦 wasn't good at either, IMO
