Sure, but that ended when the violence caused by it began.

1A doesn’t protect you when your words incite imminent lawless action.

Once again, Republicans don’t understand how the Constitution they claim to defend works.

They are correct. Trump had (and still has) a right to lie about anything. That does not mean he is allowed to break laws to attempt to overturn the election. He can lie all he wants to, that's not what he has been charged with.
