Someone here on Spoutible was lamenting the days before 45, the days when things were, to his mind, calmer and less hateful.

White Americans, please learn the history of our country. Voter suppression has been going on since day one. Filthy lies about Black people are not new.

Republican politicians have been setting the stage for a Donald for years: Gerrymandering, suppressing the vote, packing the courts, ripping off taxpayers & consumers all the while getting rich & screaming "socialism" so that they need not pass beneficial bills for the people.

I think they were motivated by "not spending money" & the promise of "lower taxes", which served corporations more than everyday people, than they were by racism. That said, systemic racism definitely played a part. They do relate poverty with people of color & don't want to give them 1 dime.👵

Dems aren't perfect, but they are not trying to create 2 classes made up of the super wealthy & the surfs & they believe in Democracy & fight against an autocracy. Their worst crime has been being asleep at the wheel. They are governing now with EYES WIDE OPEN. Gen Z & women R the hope for our futur
