Watch out for this bait and switch tactic from Republicans in 2024. They’re candidates that are running as Democrats, but funded by Republicans.

It just happened in North Carolina. Democrat ran on pro-choice platform, got elected, switched parties, and her vote took away women’s rights.

I think party rules should dictate that a candidate must remain in the party under which they were elected until the next election. Bait and switch is not right. Of course, Democrats could play the same game and run as a republican, especially in red states, and then switch. See how they like it

I agree politicians should stay in the party they were elected. But we can’t allow this to become the norm. Intentionally deceiving or lying to voters should be immediate removal. Look at George Santos. NY didn’t elect him. They elected a volleyball player whose mother died due to 9/11.

In this case, it was Republicans that encouraged her to run. Not sure what deal she made except to strip women of bodily autonomy and equal rights.. It’s going to take a lot of background checks and informed voters.
