I'm still a little cautious to believe charging is less stressful on the pocketbook than gas. Like this article says, electricity varies from state-to-state. What about the charging stations provided from the dealership at time of purchase? Do they come w/ the car or are they extra?

Is an EV cheaper to drive in addition to being good for our environment? Yes!

We have a RAV4 Prime hybrid, with a 42 mile electric range, which covers 95% of our driving. It came with a slow-charge 120VAC cord and we paid $200 for a 240VAC cable (4 hour chg). We also got 12kW solar panels ($21K) for the house, which powers the car and house. Electric costs us ~ $100/yr.

Sweet! I know some people here who got a federal grant for solar panels, had them installed but it still hasn't paired correctly with the power company and they aren't pleased. I'm glad it's working well for you.

We used Sunergy who seemed to know what they were doing. We haven’t had any issues yet. System is only 1 yr old, though. It’s good to check Yelp when you’re shopping for a system.
