Today's culinary experiment - my daughter made homemade pretzel bites. I did not know that the pretzel flavor comes from a brief boil in water with a ton of baking soda, nor that they were so easy to make.

That looks good. How were they? Whenever any asks what I miss from the US since moving to Ecuador I always say PRETZELS! I think they expect me to name some family members. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You can make them! It's a basic yeast bread dough that you boil in a large pot of water with 3/4 cup (a lot) of baking soda for 30 seconds. Then fish them out and bake for about 12-14 minutes. You can form them in any shape you like before boiling.

You know you want the pretzels...do it! Don't be askeerd to make them. Oh, and you do need kosher salt to top them.
