It would be great if Spoutible could create an incentive putting a real name, or at least first name and last initial, on profiles.

Anonymity should always be available, and Bot Sentinel does a good job with fake accounts...but I just feel less compelled to interact with nameless/faceless account

I understand that. Equally, I understand that some people may be vulnerable or protecting family and friends.

The latter is the reason for me adopting a fairly anonymous screen name. Also...being anonymous is sometimes the only way of getting uncensored news out of conflict zones.

Agree. That's why it should be incentivized but not mandatory.

Whose to say it would even be their real name?

It's a good point but that's where details in profile come into play. We all have different standards for evaluating content, but I tell all my clients and students when I teach media literacy that accounts light on details don't quality for "trust but verify" -- the standard applied to news media.
