Grief is so weird one minute you feel kinda numb and the next you're breaking down because you see something that brings up a memory that you had forgotten. The way it can come in waves. And the way it can leave you completely exhausted.

Sending you love & caring. I'm in my 5th year of widowhood & though things are mostly calm & memories a balm, grief still whips out of dark corners here & there. Last time it was a dumb yacht rock love song on the radio where I had to pull over from the unexpected tears. Rollercoaster, grief is.

Isn't it interesting what can set it off. One minute you're fine and the next you find something or smell something that can bring it all flooding back. My grandmother passed 2 years ago and I eventually moved into her room. I walked into the room and the smell of her perfume was everywhere.

Smells are the strongest triggers.
