Why is it always “if you can’t pay rent, buy fewer lattes and avocado toasts” and not “if you can’t pay your employees a living wage, buy fewer yachts and real estate”?

Record profits are unpaid wages.

And the demands for a tip have gotten out of hand!! Tipping keeps employers from paying a fair wage. When I was in Italy, one restaurant had a message in the menu that they paid their staff a living wage so tipping was not necessary

The “tipped minimum wage” is ludicrous. Something like $2.50/hr. I’d love to do away with that when the Federal minimum is raised.

In the meantime people, tip your servers and bartenders… it could mean the difference between food on the table or going without…..

$2 13/hr. Which is a whopping 5¢ more per hour than I made as a waitress in the late 80's.

So please, tip your servers and bartenders.

In cash when possible, because card tips are often not passed on, or are combined and split between all servers, or have "processing fees" deducted.
