Do not be fooled:

“American Divorce”

is as much a Russian op to destabilize a country from within as

“Brexit.”

And Brexit worked for them 100%. Britain will never be on the same level as it was, they're screwed for at least another decade and nobody is happy, but it happened. It will happen here.

True that! The CalExit movement, that periodically rears its head, is the left side of this coin and has Russian origins too. Any secession plan that cleaves our country apart serves the interests of Russia who have long range, multi-pronged plans to degrade and undermine our democracy.

That the term "National Divorce" originated from Tartar scholar Kamil Galeev, who spoke of it in terms of a post-Ukraine breakup of the Russian Federation, is the height of irony.

Anyone who questions that needs to spend a little time looking at what the Tories have done to the UK. That's what the far right want to do here. Rupert Murdoch's tabloids in the UK helped to sell Brexit, and his newspapers and news other media (Fox) are helping the far right in the US.

What's worse for the UK is that all opposition to the Tories is demoralized and disorganized. It make them far more likely for National Divorce than we are.

I agree Many times we learn on this side of the pond from USA/Canada, for good and ill features. This is one of those occasions you need to learn from us. Brexit was and has been uncovered by investigative journalists as a foul smelling project that has utterly damaged our country. Avoid!!

A case in point…
A strong challenging media and /or social engagement and activism with an ability to resist the Murdoch influence is required.

I'm always shocked by how few people understand this.

Do they not recall the "tea party rallies" while Obama was President that ended up having their funding and organizing sources outed as Russian intelligence ops?

At least Brexit drew dissent even from within the party that pushed it. Not so much with "divorce'.

Oh, that national divorce may still be coming for the UK, given how the Tories are still in charge and their opposition are still in disarray.

That "Walk Away" bs didn't work, so I doubt this will get much farther. The majority isn't going to fall for this crap.

Putin has already destabilized and permanently divided the country, it'll never go back together, but now what happens? It's not going to be good.

The Kremlin always dreamt of this. Since 2014 they stepped up their active measures to make it happen.
