How do you feel about licensing, insuring, and locking?

After decades of manipulation by the gun manufacturers via the NRA, being reasonable about guns and gun laws is not an option for them. It's a brainwashing situation, no amount of logic or reason will sway them. The NRA managed to change how people interpret the 2nd amendment. How do we fix that?

1: All firearms registered from time of manufacture
2: All transactions registered
3: All firearms owner’s licensed
4: All firearms owners have a minimum of insurance
We do this for every auto and driver in the US.

A suggestion:

5. If a firearm registered to you and nominally in your possession (you haven't reported it stolen, e.g.) is used in the commission of a crime, you are financially liable for damages.

And, if I were waving a magic wand here, I would propose no semi-automatic weapons allowed with the possible exception of shotguns with a round limit.

Former gun owner here, and I think it's ridiculous we're legally required to license and insure our car but not guns. And too many children are dying from unsecured guns, so yes, that should be addressed.
