"I don't see color" is tired as fuck.

"I see your color/race/gender/sexuality, and accept and love you for the beautiful and uniquely wonderful being you are" is where we need to get to.

I think there is a certain kind of *attempted* altruistic sentiment behind "I don't see your color, I see you as another human, like me". But the effect in practicality is an erasure of culture, of experience, of the unique beauty of those who DON'T look like us. It's cultural gentrification.

Frank, I agree. Those folks simply need to learn the correct language. They aren't necessarily bad people. The whole idea of being colorblind was, in years past, considered an anti-racist position. Misguided, maybe, but not evil.
I prefer to enjoy the diversity of our human race.

You got that right. When I hear a white person say “I I don’t see color” what I hear is “you need to stop being who you are, you make us uncomfortable. Be like us white folk, oh, but you don’t get the benefit of our privilege. Just do what we say.”
