Found this photo of boulders in my camera roll for today’s #DailyPictureTheme

Thinking of the forces that #shape rocks and stones and boulders— water and time. How did an inset come to be formed in this Boulder, as tho it had worn a too-tight belt and then grew larger? (Southern Arizona, 2012)

Beautiful! Also, it looks like the belt area has a different, lighter band of sediment, which might be softer and erode faster than the layers above and below
