I wasn't expecting this. I believed there was bipartisan support to impeach TX AG Paxton. What do you think?

Every one of those charges was proven. It was also proven that Republicans are a protection racket. They will always look the other way when it comes to protecting one of their own.

Reminded me of what just happened here in GA. All performative when it (very rarely) happens. Kemp chose 3 Republicans to look into suspending fake elector state Senator Shawn Still… they of course came to conclusion that nah, he’s good. Let’s look like we hold ours accountable but exonerate them.

70% of the gop senators voted for the trial, so they made sure to put the other 30% as the ones to vote on it.

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me at all.

Just another day here in Texas. The most criminal, hypocritical pieces of shit in the country are called republicans.

Have you ever lived in Texas? I did in 2000-2012. I didn’t dare put an Obama yard sign out or have a bumper sticker on my car. They have horrible voter turnout. There’s nothing bipartisan in Texas.

I was surprised, too. Going into the trial, the evidence looked solid to me.

If the "nay" senators were jurors in a criminal trial of a random defendant, they'd cheerlead for "law and order" and happily convict on much less evidence.

Texas. It’s like a whole other country. Truth in advertising in a 1995 commercial.

It had to be all for show, 'cause there's no other explanation. Yeah, they act like they know he broke the law, but when it comes down to it, the GOP is just fine with that.

I used to be a resident of Texas for many years. I can’t believe what has happened to this state

I don’t think bipartisanship exists in TX.
