Has anyone ever met one in the wild? Anti-Abortion but voting D? I can see this being a Rust Belt thing? Definitely not a West of the Rockies thing
Lil @Lil
"Conservative Democrats" are a small percentage of the Democratic coalition. They are, generally speaking, personally "socially conservative" (anti-abortion, anti-weed) but accept others don't share their views. They share economic views with other Dems. They're often very religious, and older.

More common than you think.

They realize that just because they would choose no when it comes to an abortion, that you should be allowed the same opportunity to choose for yourself.

Senate was full of them in 2009, then they got purity tested out in the 2010 primary.

Largely because the Dems won't support them any longer.

One side is now pro-birth, and the other is changing their rhetoric to be pro-abortion.

So those who are pro choice in the traditional sense (aka individual rights) are on an island.

But individual choice won for Dems in the bible belt.
