Dining Habits:

Wait 10 minutes - If you have a urge to have a snack mid-afternoon or a donut in the morning meeting, tell yourself "in 10 minutes". A lot of the time an urge will quickly fade, and in any case you'll have 10 minutes to get away and distract Emotional Me.

Maybe not - perhaps the good ones will be gone. Or perhaps you'll decide you're happier with staying on-plan. Or maybe you eat a half and toss the rest. Or maybe you do indulge, but at least you counted the cost and reinforced new brain pathways.

This is good from several perspectives:
- You grow a little more self-control, and delayed gratification tends to be broadly valuable as a skill.
- Emotional Me will whine, but "just 10 minutes" is not too hard, and by then, you can redirect.
- If you actually ARE hungry, find a healthy snack.
