I know this may not be a popular opinion, but I think there's something to be said for having an "algorithm" that (optionally) presents stuff one might be interested in (e.g., "For you" on the bird site).

The problem is building an algorithm that doesn’t diminish the voices of marginalized people. One hasn’t been built yet.
