At what point did you teach your students that besides being one of the cruelest, most inhumane of all slavers, Columbus NEVER STEP FOOT ON NORTH AMERICAN SOIL? You can imagine the surprised faces when I mention that to my Italian friends!

A man came into our booth at a festival and asked "Do you have anything that teaches the truth about the so-called 'discovery' of America?" I pointed to Nancy Schimmel who sang "In 1492, Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue, It was a courageous thing to do, but someone was already here."

This is standard grade 6th curriculum in the Bahamas lol...I learned this in the 4th grade...well I'm from there so yeah this is taught in ALL schools in the Bahamas...
