#DailyPictureTheme #Cloud

I got caught in this tornado #cloud at the BACK of a loop trail (with no phone, umbrella or protective place to shelter) when it blew through. I walked over a mile DURING the actual tornado, with trees falling in front of me on the wooded path en route back.

I honestly thought I was going to die that day.

Reminder, Kids: Always check those weather reports BEFORE going walking!

Born in Iowa, I still look for green skies when the wind comes up and the temp drops. That must have been terrifying.

It was. And it didn't help that I kept imagining my obituary mentioning The Darwin Awards...but not in a good way... 🤣

Oy! In recent years we've had so many tornados pop up from straight line storms, sometimes with less than a 1/2 hour warning

Honestly, this was entirely on me. I didn't yet own a cell phone and also had no thought to check the weather before going out. Tornadoes are not common where I live, so it wasn't at all expected. No problem, right?? 🤣
(We are all examples to one another; some of us are examples of what NOT to do.)

One of THE scariest times in my life. Some of us have had moments where we thought we might die; it's usually just an instant...and it passes. But that "moment" in this instance lasted throughout the walk back to my car (earnestly praying for my life the entire time). Yeah--I'm not doing THAT again!
