Absolutely. I saw the shift when I was in grad school at Wharton. Reagan had just been elected and the economics debate of the day was about supply-side economics and all that trickle-down voo-do. We knew it was bullshit, but corporate America and MSM went all-in on tax breaks and deregulation.

So true that trickle down economics is bogus. I read Kevin Phillip's book - I think he was the budget director in the Reagan administration, and he said it didn't work and that all the tax cut money went into corporate executive raises and stock buybacks and not to R&D or to raise workers' wages.

My logic 1st grade logic knew it was utter bs - seeing that we’d learned in Kindergarten that in order for our plants to grow we had to water the roots. Watering from the top of the plant would make it die.
