Here we go again. People suck. Neigbour not caring for his cat - went from normal to OMG huge, & now showed up skeletal & near death. Grabbed cat & put in recovery kennel, syringe-fed to keep it alive overnight. Abuse a cat, it becomes mine. You don't get it back. Jail me.

Day 3 - cat is alive. Vet said it was touch and go, but day 1 intervention w/syringe feed, fluids, and pred/doxy cocktail pulled him through. Much stronger today, appetite is back. Keeping him isolated from the other cats because his immune system is not functioning well. No diabetes :)

Sounds like cat may be an untreated diabetic. Our Noah blew up and then got skinny. I mentioned that, as well as his Niagara Falls sounding litter box visits to our vet when bringing in another cat, and she guessed diabetes. We got him in and tested and, sure enough, early stage diabetes.

I have handled diabetic cats before so if the tests come back with that dx, kitty will be well-cared for here. How's your sugar kitty doing now?
