My HS is filled with fantastic C students who always make As. Grade inflation is everywhere in order to appease parents.
Admin will not support the teacher (my school) so does a teacher lay her neck on the line?

Year 10 of your career - still laying your neck on the line?

It's hard to fight the tide of grade inflation. Do you have the support of other teachers or the union? How far are you willing to take this? Are you able to change careers if you are overwhelmed? What other stress are you experiencing? Retired teacher asking you to preserve your health!

This is very kind. I do not have a union; like most USA teachers. I will be retiring early. I am a participant in the abusive system that children are trapped in. That is what eats at me.

I'm curious about the demographics of the students whose parents require grade inflation ....

I have taught in two demographics - Title I rural and
rich suburbs-students drive Land Rovers

Grade inflation in both demographics. The parents push admin. Admin will not support teacher.

The latest: if a student does nothing a teacher cant give a zero - the minimum grade is 50
