We have empirical data that neither thoughts or prayer works to prevent mass shootings in America.

Reporters should not allow politicians to repeat that useless excuse.

Listening to Maine officials stand there refusing to address the laws they voted for was disgusting.

But it’s the same after every mass shooting.

The demographic who owns the most weapons by an overwhelming margin should be the last people speaking on gun laws, who votes against them, and who uses them the most.

They cannot be objective.

We only live like this because they insist we have to so their cowardice and fears are soothed by the war nipple-muzzle of their weapons that give them life.

Truly, truly, fuck every gun worshiping coward and every gun you have and will ever get.

Gun nuts, the weasel politicians, gun clubs, NRA, and stupid police who beg for help and tell citizens to stay indoors while they vote for lax gun laws.. smdh.

And fuk the religious liars and grifters who see Jesus in guns and god in their ammunition.

They sit in judgment of the Middle East as if we aren’t held hostage by their nationwide militias too.

I pray our love of guns over people changes before I die, but I'm hopeful because 'merica seems to have an unbreakable love affair with automatic weapons and other ridiculous-for-huntimg guns.

TBF, representative Jared Golden just apologized for his prior stance, and now that it has affected his community he will change his position. He said that. So until you feared for yours it was cool to disregard the 10’s of thousand that have had the experience? Make it make sense.

Is it wrong that I have this nasty suspicion that the culture of American journalism refuses to ask such questions because fewer guns means fewer stories and thus less profit?

You nailed it! Collectively, we should all be this furious re: gun violence. Media is normalizing it by using right wing talking points of “mental health” and infantilizing these clowns. We’re hearing e-ver-y-thing, but the fact that ITS THE GUNS, and we have a problem with radicalized white men.

And we should be louder about how the distribution of wealth in the US contributes to mental health problems
