That erasure means ignoring: the repercussions of Dawes; the effects of "vagabond" laws that led to court-ordered indentured servitude; child removal; that full U.S. citizenship wasn't granted until 1924 and it still took over 40 years after that for all 50 states to allow Native Americans to vote.

Both the Trail of Tears and the Long Walk of the Navajo happened well before 1900.
