I am as blue as you can possibly be, but this statement is false. Reality is 1a does infact protect it. 1a scope of what it doesn't cover is extremely limited. BUT this protection is ONLY from the government, other consequences is fair game on ALL speech.

“The Supreme Court has defined some types of speech as unprotected, such as speech that incites imminent lawless action, obscenity, and defamation. However, hate speech is not explicitly defined as unprotected speech by the Supreme Court.”

It’s more nuanced than either people on the Right or the Left often express.
