When you're trying to wish someone well with their writing, is it bad luck to say "good luck"? Is there a writing equivalent to the theater's "break a leg"?

Like "crack the keyboard" or something similar?

I have no idea. I have written all my life and never had anyone say anything different other than the occasional good luck. This always strikes me as odd, as luck is really not involved, a lot of hard work is. Or am I just being silly?

Exactly. It's not luck. You can't trip and faceplant into a brilliant novel. You have to put in the effort.

I like "crack the keyboard" because it does in fact signify making an effort.

May the words flow easily from your mind to the paper?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not bad but it should be something tighter and pithier.
