No, you can't escape liability for fraudulent statements by claiming that you signed them but other people prepared them and you don't know what was in them.

If you sign it, you own it.

It's incredulous 2 me that when you're an Officer of a company that you don't review or discuss the info presented on the forms b4 you sign them. Anyone who has ever filed an income tax form knows that they, & if filing jointly, their spouse are both responsible for the info provided when they sign.
