I had dinner for lunch today. Or supper for dinner if you're in the South.

Farmers I worked for in Maine ate dinner at lunchtime and had supper around six.
I grew up eating supper at six and dinner meant eating out.
And breakfast was anytime I wanted it!

I knew of the term supper. But in Central NY it was pretty much interchangeable with dinner. Lunch was lunch. And breakfast could be any time of the day. Especially at 2 or 3 am!

Long Island born/raised here. Yup about interchangeable dinner/supper, but my immed. family used dinner for having someone else cook & wash dishes 😋
And breakfast after barhopping is the perfect cap to a good night. Especially if it's at a diner. Or Waffle House.
Or, hell, a White Castle.
