Bullet trains travelling at 300 mph would radically change the way people travel in the states. It would reduce carbon emissions, create jobs, offer faster, safer travel. It would offer an alternative to flying or driving for about 80% of internal US travelers. Why can't we have nice things?

Pretty sure we would need some EXCELLENT, non negotiable regulations to make that happen. The States would make this impossible

If we have nice things, how are the oil companies going to make profits. US might be the only first world country with non-existent public transport system.
