Virginia will be a nailbiter. The decrease in early voting may suggest a shift in electoral dynamics. Notably, Republicans appear to be gaining traction within key voter segments. However, abortion and women's rights remain a central theme, and it will influence voters in favor of Democrats.

Then there is the Israel-Hamas conflict, and I am not sure how it will affect this election. That said, here is my prediction.

In the House of Delegates, Democrats will take control with 51 or 52 seats.

In the Senate, Democrats will gain one seat and maintain control.

Jesus. Just. WHY? HOW? How does a state that was steadily moving to a more progressive status all of a sudden decide "Actually, maybe we like fascism and bigotry after all?"

I don't friggin get it.

The latest republican talking point is “parental rights”. That is how youngkin won the governorship. It sounds good - everyone thinks parents should have a say over their kid’s education, right? The problem is it really means banning books and targeting lgbtq kids. We have to develop a response.

Plus think of the absolute chaos if every parent could direct the curriculum for their child. If that's what you want- home school for Pete's sake.

Yeah, this is a rough one. Finding a proper response has escaped me so far.

It's infuriating because it's obviously complete bullshit.
