Virginia will be a nailbiter. The decrease in early voting may suggest a shift in electoral dynamics. Notably, Republicans appear to be gaining traction within key voter segments. However, abortion and women's rights remain a central theme, and it will influence voters in favor of Democrats.

Then there is the Israel-Hamas conflict, and I am not sure how it will affect this election. That said, here is my prediction.

In the House of Delegates, Democrats will take control with 51 or 52 seats.

In the Senate, Democrats will gain one seat and maintain control.

The combo of Biden's bad polling this week and the Dems' good election day showings indicates that the administration's blind support of Israel is costing them. The Dems need to put a stop to US support of the genocide of Palestinians or they will lose the 2024 election and put TFG back in office.

The people who don’t want the genocide of Palestinians think TFG is the better option?

If there’s one thing Christopher has shown over the years I’ve followed him it’s that you can’t trust polling.

I hope you’re right - I voted this morning. I’m still angry about youngkin. Hopefully we put someone better in 25 - macauliffe was a horrible candidate. Way too much baggage

Your prediction falls well in line with what Chaz Nuttycombe has forecast. Also hearing of strong college campus turnout which is a good sign. Many Dems may be likely switching back to EDay voting post pandemic.

I hope your prediction is on Just came from voting in a district that always votes for the Democrats. My very unscientific observation was there was a ton of green (republican) sample ballots thrown in the box on the way out of the building. Doesn't mean anything, just thought it was a bit scary!

Thanks, Christopher. Today's results portend the future a gazillion more than recent polls, I think.

Chris, how much has your methodology changed with the loss of Twitter as a reliable platform? I'm noticing that you're still (mostly) aligned with Simon Rosenberg, so I'm not questioning your predictions, but would like to know more about your method.

If this happens, and I think it will, then it portends a lot of trouble for Republicans nationwide and not just for this election.
