One of my strongest early memories is of the night Reagan was elected and my parents crying in fear and grief over what was to come. 40+ years later and we are all suffering because of the course he put this country on.

I fully believe one of the biggest cons the right pulled on people was convincing them unions were bad. He played an enormous role in that and firing the air traffic controllers was such a big blow to labor.

My first election! I voted for Carter. Made me so mad I have voted in every election large & small but for 2 local elections since then.

My parents always drilled into us that voting wasn't just a right but a duty and that people fought and died for something I was freely given. They were also public school teachers back when millage votes funded schools so every single vote no matter how local or small mattered.
