For the WP in the back who refuse to grasp that voter suppression is in fact a thing and instead keep asking why MS keeps voting for trash gop pols:

They'd prefer for MS to be at the bottom of every quality of life metric if it means the Black citizens have less.

I assure you that the people who pull off the voter suppression with myriad antics are wealthy. They aren't sharing and don't care about their base, which is dwindling. That's why they have to prevent Black people from voting. If they didn't do that, they'd lose.

Of course. But at the same time poor white people also lose. However convincing them that whiteness will save them has been in play for centuries.

What's in it for them? Social Darwinism is a most common philosophy in the US. Big fish eat little fish in corporate board rooms, Wall St., D.C. to Main St. They are proud to be the winners. They are proud of what they have, most are middle class, and sure they are better than others. Gold.

Unfortunately divide and conquer works all too well. As we've seen, keep people in fear, gut education, focus on resentment of the "other" and we get this nonsense. It's not logical at all.

DFG's base is middle class. "And economic hardship among white working-class Americans actually predicted more support for Hillary Clinton, not Trump." https://www.vox.com/policy...

Agreed. HRC won the popular vote. I'd like to believe the average person understands the game being played. But the demonization of CRT, Black History Sanctuary Cities, etc. does have an affect. Just as the "Welfare Queen" myth benefitted Reagan.

Exactly. The Reps push the culture wars, Dems to call poor people stupid, who feel alienated from the very party that they are most likely to vote for. Dems self-inflict the wound. In MS, we see national Dems alienate their own base with idiotic elitism, while the racist philosophy is shared.

In MS Black citizens waited for hours to vote. But the entrenched system was ready with outright cheating. That's a state where people have been murdered if they tried to vote. It's bigger than what Dems do or don't do. Republicans and the citizens who vote for them have responsibility too.
