To be clear, I do want your thoughts on whether or not walks on a leash would be a good idea. It's just that I see so much proselytizing about keeping cats indoors and I'm tired of it. It comes across like some kind of weird religion.

My indoor cat is very interested in the outdoors. I am committed to keeping him indoors. Some people take their cats out on a leash but I worry that would make him even more determined to escape.

NO LECTURES about keeping cats indoors. I ALREADY SAID I'm keeping him in so don't even start!

I tried ONE TIME to take a cat out on a leash (it was during a wildfire evacuation, in fact) — and he hated the experience and wriggled out of it and it was very dicey catching him again, even tho he is a lover boy. the leash spooked him.

Mine hate leash walks, but I've considered a catio. Problem I have is lack of a place to put it.

We have been talking about screening in our back porch but it's not something we can do immediately.
