Juliana Margulies, who played Carol Hathaway in "ER", is now backtracking her bigoted statements on a podcast recently and is issuing an apology.

What do you think?

You buying it?

huh, ok. Does this apology check all the boxes?
1. Did they say "I'm sorry"? No
2. Did they acknowledge harm was done? Yes
3. Did they offer an excuse? Kind of
4. Were they defensive? Yes
5. Did they say it wouldn't happen again? nope
6. Did they say they were misunderstood? Yes

Conclusion: FAIL

2. Is a, No.
The harm she did was not that people were offended as she says, or even that her words "sow further division" which implies confusion over her intentions. if you "love and respect" then admit calling a whole group of Black women "fucking idiots" is a complete failure of said values.

the harm she did was promote the most base stereotypes that Arab, and Muslim countries are especially barbaric, rather than "sow further division" she is inciting hatred. Her issued statement is not even in the same time zone as an apology.

I gave her that one, but only in the passive voice. She didn't take any responsibility for causing harm, but she acknowledged that harm was done. Just not by her!
You're right, she absolutely failed to apologize. Being "apologetic" (her claim) isn't apologizing
