I know it's Taylor Swift's time in the sun, but here's something that I hope helps give you intro to the next gen of female artists. Listen to the lyrics and enjoy!

There's something about these kPop and Asian dance groups emulating Black culture in the arts, but isolating when they are in the USA.

It just seems very culture vulture-ish.

My understanding (as someone that used to live in Seoul) is that most artists are open & appreciative abt the influence of Black culture on their art (see Jay Park) Unf the studios basic. own them (they live in dorms, ev they do/say is regulated) so they don't get to choose where or what to go/do.

Appreciate Black Art and respecting Black people are two different things.

I've spent time delving into S. Korean culture to try to understand the racism problem that exists there. The racism seems to come from the awful images pumped into the country by American media re: the typical Black American. Some examples I've seen make Black people look absolutely idiotic.
