I rarely do this. When presented with one at a restaurant, I go the their web site and pull up the menu on my phone.

You don't need an app. It's built into your phone. For some, it's in the camera function. For others, it's in the pull down menu of features at the top of the screen. Other phones may have it elsewhere. Just so you're aware if it's something you're avoiding.
