It’s an odd thing to be an American in a marginalized community (or several, rather) because although I’d certainly be treated better in numerous other countries, I don’t wanna leave. I love my country. I don’t want perfection; I want improvement. I want effort. That’s all I ask.

Even odder to be a dual citizen of the United States and Germany. Granted I enjoy the luxury of eating at Taco Bell at this country since the only way to eat it in Germany is in U.S. military bases. But I still have feelings for Germany.

I shake my head at what my adopted country is doing regarding Red States discriminating against Transgender people. I am an dual citizen of both Germany and the United States and was born in that order on one of the U.S Army Hospitals in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany.
