Engagement on #Spoutible is generally fleeting since likes don't translate to more views, only echoes do. So, a Spout will get bounced around like a festival beachball for a bit and then disappear forever, unless someone finds it via a hashtag search and re-echoes it. Hoping that changes over time.

Yeah. At this point it seems to encourage meme posting, which—if I’m being honest—it soooo boring. I’m finding I post more often, but spend less time thinking about what that is. Not sure that’s a good dynamic, personally!

I think most people have this notion that they’d get more exposure if their followers just could see everything they post when they post. That’s unlikely to be true, and it’s a reason most social media sites promote or weight some content more than others.

But if some content is promoted, some will be less visible. In many ways, competing for human attention is a zero sum game.
