Look, I read the End Blyton Famous Five books and watched the TV series back in the day, but redoing the series today, and retooling for a modern audience is going to leave no winners. Already seeing the racially changed George. Will try to watch it, but my tolerance for adaptions today is poor

It is not the casting, is that adaptions come in two flavours, not adding anything to the original story or doing massive garm to it. Take Foundation, it Is a series of books where it last 500 years and nothing happens. TV adaption destroyed the core of the story almost immediately

The Famous Five was not keeping up with the times when I was growing up in the 70's but it harked back to a time and place I was aware of via BBC shows played on ABC. Now days even the language and ideas Byton used is woefully offensive due to society changes, not by her intent.
