Researchers gave homeless people $750 per month for a year, no questions asked. The recipients spent the money on food, housing, transportation, clothing, and health care. And after six months, only 12% of those who received funds were still homeless.

In the county where I live, at the beginning of covid, the homeless were taken off the streets and housed in empty motels. Social Workers, Drug Counselors and Public Health Nurses visited. In ER, we saw a huge drop in homeless patients. Housing and access to support is huge.
