What’s a book you never want to read again?
Any comments on the staff selections?

I wish I could see their reasons here; I really like a few of these and am curious about most!

Duma Key was a fun read. Lots of Kingverse magic happening.

I've read 10 of those 13, and while I fully concur about Lord of the Flies and Twilight, I quite liked The Lost Apothecary. But that might be the history of pharmacy nerd in me. There was a lot of suspension of disbelief required.

My contributions:

The Road
Gone Girl
Boy Snow Bird (which was FINE until the last 20 pages or so and then made me want to burn things)

The Three-Body Trilogy, by Liu Cixin. If I wanted dry droning physics lectures, I'd attend them rather than read them. 🙄

Not there, but wow I hated Heinlein's Farnam's Freehold. Only book I've ever thrown away. Beyond sexist, just really terrible.

Going out on a limb here because I know some people love her, but Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall. Tried reading it for a book group, REALLY tried, but oh my gosh. Then I tried watching the PBS series hoping to see what I missed, and again didn’t make it past 5 minutes!

I loved those, but they are really slow. So I get it.

Although it may be considered a classic, I would not want to reread any of the Lord of the Rings series. I know, blasphemy right?

Such an interesting question, since I usually abandon books I don't like.
Unless I had to read it for a class in high school...didn't get it...read it again for a class in college...didn't get it...returned to it a decade later to see what I missed...still didn't get it.

Station Eleven. I read it for book club but I wouldn’t read it again.

Shocked to see Reading Lolita In Tehran - that book is an absolute treasure!
I'd agree with Atomic Habits ...but I never finished it.

Definitely agree with Lord Of The Flies

The Lord of the Flies on that shelf made me laugh. I really disliked it in high school.
