I just spent an ungodly time attempting to renew a family member's Medicaid & anyone who thinks getting government aid for broke people is easy can suck on my car's tailpipe.

lifelong nyer here. my mother became a lifelong nyer in 1941. in 20something, my mother was in her 6th year in a ny state nursing home & her cash was gone. so i had to apply for medicaid for her. i gave up & hired an elder care attorney. i couldn't afford it, but i couldn't figure it out.

This!

The yearly battle to get my disabled brother set up is migraine inducing

Also, the state/govt provides him a tele which on the surface is good BUT they send him a new phone without warning & cut off his old one just as suddenly without retaining his number. Last year, his contact changed 5x

Are you in one of the nine States in trouble with the federal government for their Medicaid disenrollment?

Even more frustrating since it's Medicaid, eligibility/renewal rules differ from state to state.
