As a victim of sexual abuse (by cishet men) this is troubling. Laughing at trauma like this is horrible. And if you're a victim who's laughing, I encourage you to seek therapy. There's better ways to cope with the pain.

Oof. I wouldn't laugh at someone else's trauma - I don't think it's funny. I'd make jokes at the expense of perpetrators, though.

Everyone handles their own trauma in their own way. If dark humor is what they need, that's up to them, but I agree it's not ok for them to laugh other's trauma.

Yeah it's appalling! Some people have no empathy or sympathy for others.

As for dealing with trauma with dark humor, that is valid & true. But I've learned from experience that anything other than healing your trauma works for a period of time until it doesn't work at all.

I agree with you on healing from trauma. I think dark humour is often a coping mechanism, but ultimately I've seen success with healing trauma with trauma therapy. I hope it becomes more accessible for people.

Same. So many people have unhealed trauma. And I can tell because through my own treatment, I've started to notice other people's trauma responses to things.
