That looks like, what I know as, crown of thorns. Around here, in south middle TN, they won't do well over winter and have to be grown in pots and brought in. I have one that's about 15 years old. Love that you got a bird to nest in yours!

You’ve taken good care of it. 15 years! My nephew is the gardener as I don’t live there. So glad he loves gardening.
