Where on Spoutible do I find empathetic exchanges about Jews & Palestinians in N. America right now, how they're being conflated with either the far-right Israeli government's actions or Hamas' Oct. 7 attacks? Does it exist? Or is everyone playing ostrich - too afraid to say anything at all?

Thanks for sharing, Lorna.
There are days I feel much as David does. And it hurts that the descendants of slaveowners and traders get to live normal lives, while we bear the burden. I hope something meaningful comes of David and the earl's discussions.

Lorna @lorna_tveditorHomeland star David Harewood hopes that when visitors see his portrait in Harewood House, the lone Black person among so many white faces, they will ask about it and learn how his enslaved ancestors' pain, and the brutality of what they suffered, helped to build that house.

The need to make easy profit from outrageous remarks - and no research - won every time. Real journalistic research would have unmasked that man. But cable news wants cheap and easy "shock & awe" content and political speculation/gossip that brings in the big bucks. That hasn't changed.

I’m proud of my students for courageously writing & sharing their memoirs. I discovered early that 1) most people can learn how to write a book if guided well; 2) most of my students write their memoirs first & foremost as a legacy-gift for their families. The impact on their readers is profound.

These are not fake flowers! I'm great at garden design, but really bad at indoor arrangements, and so I felt very pleased with myself for making this. Then my brother walked in and asked: "Are those fake flowers?" And then my husband, who should know better, asked the same thing. Grrr...

#WritingMemoir - Someone asked me the other day if a memoir is an autobiography. I said: "An autobiography is the story of your life. A memoir is a story from your life. You can write several memoirs, each one a story about a slice or layer of your life."

Eagerly awaiting an abundance of blooms in this one tiny patch of the front garden: day lilies, irises, allium, yarrow, etc, etc. White trillium on its way out after a tremendous showing throughout the spring garden. #gardening

The GrandToddler picked flowers for the 3 generations of mothers in our family yesterday. Noticing that her dad, granddad and great aunt had no flowers, she asked to go back to the garden to pick more. Such thoughtfulness at 3 years old.

Our garden is entirely blue right now - Scilla (2 kinds), Lungwort (Pulmonaria) various Bluebells, etc, etc. it’s a lovely sight. #gardening in Ontario.

Question:How do you make Spoutible a must-visit without the provocation & outrage of Twitter? I don’t want trolls but I do value news, and debate, on issues. And I love gardening. Where are the #gardeners ?

A person can pretend it’s Spring - or even Summer. - when there’s Amaryllis blooming indoors. Just don’t look at the snow outside.

#memoirwriting . Many people believe a memoir is your whole life’s story. It isn’t. You can write several memoirs, because each is a unique story about a theme in your life, related experiences and your resulting growth.

You have entered an argument that began long before you were born and will continue long after you are dead.
There is no winner, no right answer, but the participants will never admit it. At least - not in my house.
