Without reading his actual statement, I have to suspect that this May be about poor people selling their organs, and some efforts in Italy to legalize the practice (of selling organs.) Not that I expect Francis supports surrogacy.

You took what I said to be more specific than I meant it, but I can see why you might. Since Francis wants a total ban, I can see why that might seem at odds to concerns about selling. Francis isn't going to endorse surrogacy, but he does seem specifically concerned with women selling out of need.
