if wherever you were fleeing to was dangerous you had a 50/50 chance of it being better & those were odds worth risking your life for because not fleeing meant you were sure to die violently.
So if you cannot understand what would drive these asylum seekers to brave deserts, walk 1000s of miles,

Spend every dime to get their children rescued, then you should get down on your knees & give thanks. That's not the kind of fear I'd wish on anyone. Even if you prevail, that terror makes a lifelong mark on the soul.

That's very similar to what I said to my parents last week (among other things). (They both--as I do--live with #CPTSD , though they don't know it. There's also #CEN in the family mix.)

I'm not a migrant but I have fled violent situations & after your first time, you'd think it gets easier but for those of us repeating patterns we inherited it's just cuts deeper every time & never heals. I would not wish it on anyone.

If someone is willing to risk their lives and walk a gauntlet of thieves 2000 miles to get to this country. these are the people WE WANT!!
