Does Spoutible have any bird experts that can identify this species of bird, please? This is in Wilmington, NC. I’d like to submit it to the Cornell Bird Lab for the feeder count. #birds

This is in fact a female red-winged blackbird. The bill is a pretty good tell. It’s a much bigger, heavier bill than a sparrow would have. The whiteish eye line is another good mark.

Wonderful! Thanks so much. We had ten of them around the feeders this morning as it was in the twenties here. I’ll submit to Cornell Bird Lab along with the others. Got to see a red bellied woodpecker too!

I’m thinking a type of sparrow as well. Merlin’s said it was a female red wing blackbird. So confused 😁
