Biden wasn't on the ballot in New Hampshire and he still won. Dean Phillips can't even win when Biden isn't on the ballot.

I know Dean's family personally and while some may not agree with his reason for running, I can tell you that he is doing it with eyes wide open and knows the criticism that he will and does receive. I may not agree with his decision to run, but I like knowing there could have been another option.

. NOT . THIS . YEAR .

Seriously, WTF is he thinking, when the stakes are this historically high, he has 0 chance, and can only help Trump?

AFICT, he's the most selfish jerk this side of Rs, or
he's taken a huge payoff to undermine Biden

Means I'll NEVER consider him in '28, '32+

What's his game?

It's really all because of Trump. He really felt that there was a chance trump could win if people didn't feel strongly enough about electing Biden

Wow, that's really interesting.

When Biden is doing the best job of any POTUS in decades, his solution is to undermine Biden?

Yikes. The solution is to all get behind Biden 100%

Living evidence that the road to hell is paved with good intentions

Any chance he'll figure it out?

I have so many thoughts on this and not enough patience to type. I get angry sometimes that I only have 1 choice, even if I am satisfied with that political choice, it's also nice to see someone else say, hey here's another choice, what about this? Then at least I can say, yeah nope I'm good.

Yes, that's satisfying

Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that

The last time a sitting D POTUS had a primary challenger, it was Ted Kennedy against Jimmy Carter, which then put Ronald Reagan in the WH

1st-Past-The-Post voting only works for 2 candidates; any challenger is a spoiler

We look to the past to predict the future, but just like in business, we don't always have to do things just because it's the way it's always been done. We've never had a president like like Trump, but here we are. Yes we do operate currently in a system of 2 parties. How do we break out of that?

Fix? Change to a different voting system

The current voting system is the default,
but it is flawed:
* It forces only 1-/2-Party rule
* 3rdPtys have no chance, are always spoilers
* Winning is possible w/o majority support
* Gaming possible by running spoilers

Ranked Choice Voting fixes all these

It can be good to try different stuff
But NOT when straight math tells us it's wrong

Both voting & campaign finance math
tell us that Dean is ONLY helping Rs & himself
He's certainly not helping Ds

More recent example:
Bernie hurt Hillary enuf to elect Trump

Please try2 convince him to drop soon

Yeah that's true. Pretty sure he'll go to South Carolina and see how that shakes out, but really it's a tough year to want to take on the political landscape
